Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design
CPTED is a multi-disciplinary approach for reducing crime through urban and environmental design and the management and use of built environments.
It reduces opportunities for crime by using design and place management principles that reduce the likelihood of essential crime ingredients (law, offender, victim or target, opportunity) from intersecting in time and space.
We are certified by the NSW Police Force as CPTED practitioners through their Safer by Design course which includes training on:
- Criminology and crime prevention.
- Core principles of CPTED.
- Identifying crime risk in architectural plans and drawings.
- Lighting, fear and crime.
- Crime risk management and CPTED applications.
